On This Day in History: Sesame Street Premiered

 

November 10, 1969 – Sesame Street premiered on public broadcasting.  It is now in its’ 46th season and has aired in 140 different countries.!

With characters such as Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Bert & Ernie and so many more they have touched so many lives.  In fact a 1996 survey found that 95% of all American preschoolers had watched the show by the time they were three years old!
